How Video Games, Social Media Influence Children’s Grades

A recent research from Australia suggests that students playing online video games perform better in school, while those who often spend on Facebook or other social media are more likely to have troubles with studying.video games

Alberto Posso, an associate professor in the School of Economics, Finance and Marketing at RMIT University (Australia) and author of the study, says: “…when you play online games you’re solving puzzles to move to the next level and that involves using some of the general knowledge and skills in math, reading and science that you’ve been taught during the day.”

Posso has analyzed standardized test scores of more than 12,000 Australian 15-year-olds in mathematics, science, and reading and gathered information about their online habits.
