It the beginning of the XX century the raw foodism was promoted by American scientist Hereward Carrington. Now he is considered the “father of the raw food diet.”

Benefits of a raw food diet are based on the belief that since the beginning in the human food chain the fried and cooked food (which is not found in nature) was not included, as well as meat and milk of animals, so the raw food is the most biologically natural.
But, as with any system of nutrition and diet, the raw foodism has its pros and cons. In this article we will go through to the main of them.

+Benefits

1. Raw foodism eliminates the disease

Some raw foodists say that this regime can help to run away from some diseases. There are cases when with a raw food diet, people got rid of arthritis, hypertension and headache.

2.  Raw food diet will help to lose weight

This nutritional system has shown the incredible results in beating overweight. Raw food diet – is the most natural and, as it turned out, a really effective method of losing weight.1 kg per day – is in most cases, and the extra weight actually goes faster than in most diets.

3. Raw foodism – is a pleasure

All raw foodists believe that it’s enough to eat only fresh fruits, vegetables, salads, sprouts, nuts for week and you’re rediscovering food. Fried potatoes, meat products and sweets seem unnaturally salty, fatty and sugary.

4. You don’t need to count calories, and can eat a lot

This is not the Dukan Diet with which we closely monitor the amount of carbohydrates, proteins and fats. Instead of restrictions we have the luxury and abundance. Herbal products are poorer in calories than meat and dairy. To dial a daily rate, you will need to eat pounds of the fruits and vegetables.

– Harms

1. Raw food diet leads to deficiency of vitamins

When you try raw foodism, if the diet is unbalanced, the body often has a lack of vitamins and minerals. In particular, calcium and magnesium. Because of this lack after switching to raw food (about 3 weeks), sometimes numbness in hands and feet may appear.

2. Raw food can cause indigestion

Many raw foodists do not know how to combine food and eat everything raw. Some products can’t be not digested together and harm to the body. You can not mix proteins with carbohydrates, vegetables with fruits. It is not allowed, for example, a combination of nuts and honey.

3. Raw foodism causes aggression

Not only meat eaters are aggressive. Very often, aggression to others is expressed by newly minted raw foodists. In the transition to raw food, a person refuses grains – such as cereals, breads, pastries, and this leads to a shortage of B vitamin, which is responsible for equilibrium.

4. Your appearance may deteriorate

Raw food diet is not a panacea for old age and diseases. Although, a rapid weight loss and youthful appearance is initially the main motivation of beginners, the reality is more complicated. In the first phase, many raw foodists look even older than their ages. They may lose excess weight and begin to lose muscle and the body looks ugly. In the end, the weight stabilizes and appearance comes back.
