Eating Pasta Doesn’t Make You Fat, Italian Study Suggests

It is widely believed that eating pasta, as well as any carbohydrate, is fattening. However, a new Italian study suggests that pasta does not make people gain weight. It acts quite opposite if it is consumed as a part of a Mediterranean diet.eating pasta

This project began in 2005 and originally intended to identify genetic factors for cardiovascular disease, cancer, and other conditions.

The research was performed by the members of the Italian Research Hospital Instituto Di Ricovero e Cura a Carattere Scientifico Neuromed in Italy. It included more than 23,000 people from 2 parts of Italy.

The study conclusions say that there is no direct link between eating pasta and weight gain and that this product can actually do the opposite. The correlation between pasta consumption and lower obesity rates are independent of all diets.
