Increasing Any Physical Activity Linked to Longer Life

A new study from Norway clearly shows that increasing any physical activity without increasing its intensity is associated with a significantly lower risk of death.Increasing Any Physical Activity Linked to Longer Life

For the study, a team of researchers analyzed data from 36,383 adults from 8 studies. The youngest participant was 40 years old and the average age of these people was 62 years.

The studies included light, moderate and vigorous physical activity which included walking, washing, dishes, cooking (light), mowing grass, brisk walking, vacuuming (moderate), digging, jogging, and carrying heavy weights (vigorous).

The authors of the study believe that their findings reinforce that any intensity of physical exercise is beneficial for prolonged life.
