Those Who Sleep Too Much or Too Little Are at Higher Risk of Heart Attack

Recent research, published in Journal of the American College of Cardiology, suggests that sleep amount may influence the risk of a person of having a heart attack. In a study, scientists from the US and the UK performed analysis of sleep habits and medical records of 461,347 people living in the United Kingdom. Their age was 40–69 years.

The analysis showed that people who slept less than 6 hours at night had 20% higher risk of having a heart attack, and those who slept more than 9 hours had 34% higher risk compared to the category of people sleeping from 6 to 9 hours.
