Vaping Connected to Risk of COVID-19 in Teens and Young Adults

A new study, led by researchers from the Stanford University School of Medicine, US, suggests that vaping is associated with a significantly higher risk of COVID-19 in teenagers and young adults.Vaping Connected to Risk of COVID-19 in Teens and Young Adults

For the study, the scientists tested young people for the virus causing COVID-19 and found that those who vaped were 5 to 7 times more likely to get the infection compared to those who did not use e-cigarettes.

The senior author of the study Bonnie Halpern-Felsher, PhD, professor of pediatrics, comments: “Teens and young adults need to know that if you use e-cigarettes, you are likely at immediate risk of COVID-19 because you are damaging your lungs.”
