Alzheimer’s Disease May Develop from Infection

Researchers from Harvard suggested a new theory of Alzheimer’s disease. They believe that the immune system may play a significant role in the development of this disease.alzheimer's-disease

The team of the researchers has found that amyloid beta, the brain protein considered a hallmark for dementia, may accumulate as a reaction to infection. And this can be an evidence of the theory that Alzheimer’s disease may be a reaction of the body to some bacterial threats.

Also, this discovery adds to the idea that healthy lifestyle, including moderate exercise, good sleep, and a healthy diet may help prevent Alzheimer’s disease.

Scientists believe that their conclusions could be the perspective on the protein and could influence the development of the medication for this disease, incurable at the present moment.
