The National Health Service report says that more than a quarter of women in the UK aged 16-24 have symptoms of common mental health problems like anxiety and depression. The statistics showed that 26% of women aged between 16 and 24 reported symptoms of common mental health problems rose from 21%, the number received from the study executed in 2007.
Sally McManus from the National Centre for Social Research, the lead author of the study, says: “This is the first cohort to come of age in social media ubiquity. This is the context they are coming into and it warrants further investigation.”
