A new study from the London School of Economics suggests that key to happiness is good mental health and healthy relationships. These two factors generally make people happier than if they double their income.
For the research, the scientists examined responses from 200,000 people around the world about different life events and asked them to rank their changes in happiness on a scale of 1 to 10.
According to the report, being in a good relationship, as well as mental and physical health make people happy.
Richard Layard, Ph.D., a professor at the school and co-author of the report, believes that these data show that people need to switch their focus from wealth creation to wellbeing creation.
