A Sudden Stop of Exercising Turns to be Harmful for Mental Health

stop of exercisingScientists have proved that regular sports can not be left suddenly. Otherwise, it will negatively affect the state of health.

As the Australian scientists have found out in the result of research, a sharp pause in trainings can negatively affect, first of all, the psychical state. In particular, this leads to a rapid development of depressive disorders.

The study involved 152 people (50 women and 102 men), each of whom had previously trained from 30 minutes three times a week for at least three months. And even with such a short period of experience, each participant noted violations of mental status after a sharp pause.

Professor Bernhard Baune, senior co-author of the study said that depressive symptoms began to appear after only three days, and after a week or two the symptoms worsened significantly, while women suffered more than men.

While scientists can not name a mechanism that would reliably explain the relationship between the cessation of training and mental state.

According to one theory, adequate activity is important for physical and mental health, because it affects the proper metabolism and hormonal background, as well as the activity of nerve cells. And the lack of loads provokes disruptions, which, first of all, affect the psyche, which can lead to severe depression.
